BlackWow as a company

BlackWow was created in 2005 after a Richard Lin (aka OctaneGuy) searched for an idea to restore faded plastics on Mini Coopers. The company is located in California and ships its products to resellers and distributors worldwide. Although many manufacturers try to create several products that serve a very wide range of needs, BlackWow focusses on developing their dressing.

The products

The unique trait of this company is that it focusses solely on a dressing. They don’t make any other product (at the time of writing). The products available are BlackWow Classic and BlackWow Pro. The key for the performance of the product lies in saturating the trim. Apply it evenly on the trim, leave it for a while so the trim can absorb the product. After a while (max 24 hours) reapply a generous amount of product and the results will last a lot longer. The PreWow (pre treatment product) can be used to increase performance on certain troublesome areas.

General history

BlackWow was created by a professional detailer, his wife and his father. They originate from California and are still based there. Before developing BlackWow, it started as a professional detailing company. The search for a proper trim restorer lead them to create the company. Richard Lin might be better known to some as “OctaneGuy” or from how-to video’s made with Mike Philips. The company was created in 2005 and has been developing its award-winning dressing ever since.

Company information

BlackWow has its own company website and is moderately active on Social Media. The company is based in America and is rarely seen on shows or meetings outside America. The brand might be represented by a reseller or distributor on some major car care events of meetings.
