Written by:

Sonax is a manufacturer of detailing products and is owned by Hoffman Group. Sonax is probably most known for their polish and/or wax products.

Sonax history

Sonax is owned by Hoffman Group, which started in the industry of mining. In the 1930’s, the Hoffman Group supplied the raw materials for the metal polish “Brasso”. Having the materials, they started making their own product, calles “Sonne”. (the German name for “sun”). A few years later, they added wax to the recipe, giving birth to the name “Sonax”.
After the bankruptcy of Halfords and Koops, the Dutch Sonax Car Care got in some very serious problems and was force to reorganize the company in order to avoid bankruptcy themselves.

Sonax products

Sonax offers a wide range of products for the car enthusiast who wants to achieve a bit more shine. The current collection includes cleaners, polish, shampoo, interior cleaners, dressing, leather care, wax and sealant.

Company information

Sonax has its own company website. They are not very active on social media, are hardly ever seen on detailing fora and are only seen on detailing events and/or meetings when a webshop, distributor or reseller decides to open a stand.
