Sonax is a manufacturer of detailing products and is owned by Hoffman Group. Sonax is probably most known for their polish and/or wax products.

Sonax history
Sonax is owned by Hoffman Group, which started in the industry of mining. In the 1930’s, the Hoffman Group supplied the raw materials for the metal polish “Brasso”. Having the materials, they started making their own product, calles “Sonne”. (the German name for “sun”). A few years later, they added wax to the recipe, giving birth to the name “Sonax”.
After the bankruptcy of Halfords and Koops, the Dutch Sonax Car Care got in some very serious problems and was force to reorganize the company in order to avoid bankruptcy themselves.
Sonax products
Sonax offers a wide range of products for the car enthusiast who wants to achieve a bit more shine. The current collection includes cleaners, polish, shampoo, interior cleaners, dressing, leather care, wax and sealant.
Company information
Sonax has its own company website. They are not very active on social media, are hardly ever seen on detailing fora and are only seen on detailing events and/or meetings when a webshop, distributor or reseller decides to open a stand.
- There are a multitude of types of product available for cleaning glass. some or all of these may be required depending on just how much residue, dirt or traffic film has built up on the surface of the glass. Glass cleaning is part of regular maintenance....
- A rain repellent is a special product that is designed to be applied on glass. The product leaves a very Hydrophobic layer on top of the glass. Water won't be able to form any wetting, and the round beads are more easily blown off the glass....
- As with most products, it helps to know how to polish metal. In many cases you can only give a general guide, because even though some products can fall in the same catgory, they might still need a slightly different way of applying. Metal polish is one of those products....
- When you polish a surface, the level of imperfection defines how much work it will be to achieve a perfect finish. This can either be a 1 stage polish, a 2 stage polish or even a 3 stage polish. Different types of stages needed define slightly what pads and/or polish you are going to need, and might give an indication of the time-frame needed....
- ShineMate is a manufacturer of polishing equipment from Hong Kong and offers a wide range of products aimed at the polishing process. The company has its root in a company called SunnyPads....
- There are a few different types of leather-like materials that can be used in a vehicle. Although many fabrics look and feel like leather, it might not be real leather. Fake leather is a commonly used product in regular priced vehicles and can be known via a few different names....
