The start of Meguiars

Frank Meguiars Jr started Meguiars wax as a furnish wax/polish manufacturer company from his own garage in 1901. The brand only existed out of Frank himself and a few home made products that he tried to sell and use. When the carriages changed into cars made out of wood, he slowly started to turn his attention to the car industry. Many years later, the brand has a complete focus on almost every vehicle that is covered in paint with a very wide collection of products. Today, the company is run by third generation Barry Meguiars under the ownership of 3M.

The products

Meguiars has several different lines of products, but the biggest different is in the beginner products and the experienced user products. Most of the commercial products that can be found in numerous shops, are the beginner and/or advanced products. Some of the ranges that fall in this category is the NXT, Ultimate and Gold Class series.
The Meguiars Detailer range is aimed at the professional detailer with products that can be bought in gallons or other big volumes.

Company information

Although Meguiars is based in Irvine, America, they have re-sellers all around the world and or available in all the major populated areas in the world. They are active on Social Media, and even though the people from Meguiars are not very active on fora, the re-sellers often aim at high customer service with good interaction. Meguiars can be found at certain car shows, meetings and/or events, but these are mostly division that represent Meguiars instead of the people behind the brand itself.
Meguiars has a reputation of being difficult to reach with very basic customer service. However, seeing as the brand is sold by many, you are much more likely to get a decent reply from a re-seller. They have a company website.

One method of getting rid of Swirl marks is to basically fill up the mark with a filler (a bit like anti-wrinkle cream!!) so that there's no longer a hole and sharp edges to catch the light.
